I. Recruitment Priority

1. Distinguished young and middle-aged scholars from prestigious universities and research institutions

2. Graduates with doctoral degrees and postdocs from prestigious universities and research institutions

3. Candidates for Young Professionals of the Thousand Talents Plan

II. Qualifications and Benefits

1. Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars Program

1) Qualifications

a. Applicants should hold associate professorship or equivalent or higher positions.

b. 45 year-old or younger for natural sciences, and 55 year-old for humanities and social sciences

c. Full time job

2) Privileges and Benefits

a. Entitlement to build up research teams and recruit assistants

b. A minimum annual salary of no less than 650,000 RMB, with an extra bonus for outstanding achievements; an apartment of 120 m2 provided by the University or 1 million RMB settling-in allowance

c. 2 million to 4 million RMB start-up funds for natural sciences, engineering and medicine, and 500,000 to 1 million RMB for humanities and social sciences. Special funds available for grand pioneering research programs

d. Professorship available, entitlement to admit doctoral candidates; fair research and office conditions; an annual quota of 2 new doctoral candidates and 1 or 2 postdocs funded in priority (subject to the University’s approval)

e. Spouse employment, good K-12 educational resources for children, high quality medical care guaranteed by three top-ranking hospitals affiliated to the University, one-stop service by administrative departments

2. Young Professionals of the Thousand Talents Plan

1) Areas

Natural sciences and engineering

2) Qualifications

a. 40 year-old or younger with doctoral degree

b. Holding formal teaching or researching positions in overseas prestigious universities, institutions or enterprises; working non-stop for a minimum of 36 months outside China after doctoral study; time limit of work experience is negotiable for outstanding and urgently needed applicants with doctoral degree earned abroad

c. Having peer-reviewed achievements as well as showing potential to play leading academic or technological role in the area of research

d. Holding no other or less than 1-year full time position in China, being able to fulfill full time work at the University

3) Privileges and Benefits

a. An annual salary of no less than 450,000 RMB, plus bonus for outstanding research achievements, 500,000 RMB State-granted living allowance, an apartment of 120 m2 provided by the University or 1 million RMB settling-in allowance

b. 1 million to 3 million RMB State-granted funds, the corresponding amount of the University-granted fund, special fund for grand pioneering research programs

c. Professorship available, entitlement to admit doctoral candidates; fair research and office conditions; an annual quota of 2 new doctoral candidate and 1 or 2 postdocs funded in priority (subject to the University’s approval)

d. Spouse employment, good K-12 educational resources for children, high quality medical care guaranteed by three top-ranking hospitals affiliated to the University, one-stop service by administrative departments

e. Applicants who pass the initial review but not accepted by the Recruitment Program for Young Professionals of the Thousand Talents Plan are eligible for the similar privileges and benefits on condition that they pass the university review.

3. Youth PI

1) Qualifications

a. Doctoral degree; 40 year-old or younger

b. Well-trained in academic research, outstanding research achievements, demonstrating influential impact in research, working on the development frontier, capable of doing independent research, displaying teamwork spirit with ability of coordination

2) Privileges and benefits

a. An annual salary of 200,000 to 350,000 RMB, or negotiable for the most distinguished

b. Start-up fund of 500,000 to 3 million RMB for natural sciences, engineering and medicine; 150,000 to 500,000 RMB for humanities and social sciences.

c. 3,500 RMB monthly rental allowance or the University’s rental apartment

e. Good K-12 educational resources for children, high quality medical care guaranteed by three top-ranking hospitals affiliated to the University, one-stop service by administrative departments

4. Postdocs Funded in Priority

1) Qualifications

a. Doctoral graduates from prestigious universities or research institutions, high-level research achievements

b. 35 year-old or younger, full-time postdoc research at the University

2) Privileges and Benefits

a. Start-up research fund and platform provided

b. An annual salary of 150,000 to 300,000 RMB

c. Postdoc-only rental apartment

d. Permanent employment available for the most outstanding after the completion of postdoctoral program
